Mal Hay began his career as a journalist working on local and regional newspapers across the UK before moving into automotive PR at the turn of the millennium. Since then he has worked with many big name brands including Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Jeep, Nissan, Renault, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, SEAT and Ssangyong. Mal has also worked with some of the UK’s biggest dealer groups and is well known in automotive retail circles.

A journalist of almost 35 years, Tim Bowdler is a former deputy editor of What Car? and Parkers.co.uk, and also a former editor of Motorsport News and Channel 4’s motoring website, 4Car.  Tim is responsible for all the content that is produced by the loop editorial team

Gaja Gazdic


Gaja has eight years’ experience in the automotive industry. Following her Masters in PR analysis, she began her career at the monitoring agency, PRIME Research (now Cision), managing clients such as Nissan GB, Porsche UK, JLR and Bentley. She then worked with the in-house comms team at Bentley Motors (and some time at Huntsman & Sons on Saville Row), always with a focus on determining what success looks like, monitoring the outcomes of PR activities and using the PR data to inform future PR tactics.

Alex Kefford is our Technical Writer, bringing with him more than 20 years’ experience in the automotive industry as a journalist and editor, among other roles. An earlier career in software engineering stands him in good stead for working with our more technical clients, as does an ability to craft a fascinating story out of even the most complex subjects. His background is peppered with stints as a rally driver and 4×4 instructor, as well as extended periods in event management and brand experience, most notably for the likes of Jeep and Abarth.
