Start Rescue: Putting drivers first

Breaking down is bad enough. Being caught out by confusing charges, clunky payment systems or half-baked advice only makes it worse.

For Start Rescue, one of the UK’s leading independent vehicle recovery operators, loop has helped build a news programme around a simple idea: drivers deserve clear, useful information from people who are firmly on their side.

That has meant moving beyond generic “winter driving tips” and creating stories rooted in the real frustrations motorists face every day.

We developed a running campaign highlighting the rising cost and complexity of parking, from hefty charges to payment technology that can leave older or less digitally confident drivers behind. The aim was not just to comment on the issue, but to make Start Rescue a practical voice for motorists who feel the system is becoming harder to navigate.

Alongside this, we used Start Rescue’s own call centre data to explore what is really happening on UK roads. That included a fact-led look at EV reliability, based on real breakdown and recovery insight rather than pub opinions, social media arguments or the usual “are electric cars actually any good?” noise.

By turning operational data into clear, media-ready stories, we helped Start Rescue bring something genuinely useful to the conversation: evidence from the roadside.

The campaign has secured national press coverage, strengthened Start Rescue’s position as a trusted driver champion and helped show that breakdown support does not start when a vehicle stops. Sometimes it starts with helping people avoid the problem in the first place.
